
The practice of letting go is energetic, and to let go we learn to relax the psychic energy that we hold. We can support this with the breath. As you breathe in deeply and fully, let that represent whatever it is that you feel an attachment or aversion towards. Hold the breath in for a moment, and then release the breath, pushing all the air out, especially from the lower belly. Then relax. Repeat the practice, and then go about your day, without focusing on that which you have released. You may need to do this several times before it actively releases. You may also wish to explore alternate nostril approaches to breathing: Breathe in fully, and then close off the right nostril with the right index finger. Exhale slowly and fully, until all the air is pushed out and you may shake a bit. Relax your breathing for a few minutes, and repeat three times for the each nostril.
